HIV self-test is an antibody based test so it can have a window period of 3 months. So it can be false negative during the window period. This is a screening test but it has a sensitivity of 97%.
If a test is positive
Don’t get panicked. Please call and inform the said number. We have to do further tests. If confirmed positive treatment is available free of charge, and with treatment and regular follow up you can live a near normal life.
